Alcuin Society Awards for Excellence in Book Design in Canada

Named after Alcuin of York (c. 735 to 804 A.D.), a man who cared deeply about books and literacy, Canada's Alcuin Society has as its mandates: 1) the promotion of a wider appreciation of books and reading, and 2) supporting excellence in book design and production.

On Tuesday, April 3, 2012, the Alcuin Society announced the winners of its 30th annual Alcuin Society Awards for Excellence in Book Design in Canada competition. The 35 winning titles in eight categories will be presented in a travelling exhibition across Canada as well as in Germany and Japan.
